Premier League - Young Talents

Carl Jenkinson- The Arsenal right back has made 12 appearances for his club and the majority of those were in a spell in the first stages of last season. This proved to be a tough start to his Arsenal career, he was a full backs dream inexperienced and a tendency to make sloppy mistakes that led to either a goal or pressure on his fellow defenders. His worst game probably came against Manchester United in which the eventful game finished 8-2 in the red devils favour, he was constantly troubled and looked well out of his comfort zone. He did collect an assist however setting up Van Persie to bring the score to 6-2, in the 76th minute Carl Jenkinson was given a red card for two bookable offences to bring his nightmare to an abrubt end.

There has been many players that have failed from the step up to the Premier League from the lower leagues, Jermaine Beckford is an example his step up from the championship saw him not have the impact many expected, he did score 10 goals in all competitions but eventually was sold to Leicester City. Jenkinson's season was cut short with various injury complaints that kept him out for 3 months, it would be a test of character for a player to come back from such a stressfull and disruptive debut season in the Premier League. The 2012-2013 season ahs saw Jenkinson at his best and showcases the potential the 20 year old has. In the first 3 games played this season he has handeled himself impeccably and has helped the Arsenal defence to a terrific record of being the only team yet to concede this season. Jenkinson is relativley quick and this was highlighted when he was up against Raheem Sterling who is renowned for his explosive pace. He has matured as a player and become wiser when diving in to make a challenge, this is partly down to Wenger and his tutoring and defnesive coach Steve Bould. If Carl Jenkinson continues at the current level he is playing at he can easily become one of the best rightbacks in the Premier League, his potential is eay to see and with Wenger as a mentor he is in sfae hands and will look to stamp his new look in the league.

Gary Gardner- A product of the impressive Academy at Aston Villa, the Birmingham born centre midfielder has earnt rave reviews from pundits and fans alike and looks destined to be a star. He had an awful injury to his anteror cruciate ligament in 2009, the injury would see him out of action for a year meanign he was yet to make a single appearance for the Aston Villa Under 18s. He is the younger sibling of Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner they both spent the start of there careers at Aston Villa before Craig controversially moved to Birmingham city. Once he had recovered from his inury he began making appearances for the Aston Villa reserves and attracting praise and interest down to his impressiv eperformanes, the midfileder was not only creating goals but consistenyl finding the net himself. The Next Gen series which is essentially the U19 Champions league gives wide coverage of young players insome of the most illustious clubs, Gary Gardner scored on six occasions the joint top goalscorer despite being a centre meidfielder. Coventry City had a loan offer accpeted for Gardner and would give him vital first team experience, he scored on his debut for the sky blues but just 4 games into the laon spell he was recalled back to Aston Villa. Stilyan Petrov was diagnosed with acute leukemia andVilla were short on midfield options this was Gardner's time in the spotlight in the Premier League. He put instrong performances without really igniting a spark and impressing. The start of the new seaon has saw Gary Gardner unfortunatley ruled out with the same injury that kept him out for a year in his youth career, he damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and has been ruled out for 8 months and will be bitterley disappotined. Gardner idolises Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard and its clear to see bases his game around him. A goalscoring midfilder, he has a powerful shot which has seem him score on international evel for England youth. He also has a terrific free kick and his engine sees him patrol the pitch for 90 minutes, if he can remain injury free after anothe rspell on the sidelines its clear to see Gardner is a special talnet villa willd do well to hold on to.

Jesus Fernandez "Suso"- The spanish midfilder plays for Liverpool FC however this isnt where he started his career. Suso as he is commonly known as started at the youth academy of Cadiz CF, he began impressing at the Spanish side and in 2010 Liverpool made an offer for the attacking midfilder and he remarably rejected the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid for the Mersey side club. He hasnt yet made a competive first team apperance for Liverpool but at only 18 years of age this isnt a shock hes young and still maturing and obviously the coahces feel he is nto ready to make the step up. He has however played in a freindly against German outfit Borussua Mochengladbach and then in Liverpool veteran Jamie Carraghers testimonial. He currently plays in the reserve team for the reds and is impressing many of those that have seen the youngster play. He made 17 appearances in 2010-2011 only managing to find the net 3 times but he was still trying to adapt to the English game. The 201-2012 season saw him find form as now he had become accustomed to the much faster and physical side of the game in England compared to the possesion and more technically attuned Spanish League. He scored five goals in the season and muerous assists to his name, the NextGen tournament provided the oppurunity for Suso to showcase his talents on amuch bigger stage making seven appearances. Whilst Dalglish was in charge at Liverpool he was given the squad number 30 and was seen training alongside the first team with other youth players such as Raheem Sterling. Brendan Rodgers then replaced Dalsglish and was part of the squad tht flew to America for the 2012 tour, he impressed after coming on in the second half against torontowith his quick feet and his accurate shooting from distance. He style is linkened to other Spanish players such as Iniesta, his tricky feet allow him to woutwit opponents alongisde his brilliant vision for a pass he has an accurate shot and has scored freekciks for Liverpools reserve side. Suso if patient and not rushed can easily become another Spanish talent that will only add to there brilliant national pool.

These are just three of the brilliant talents in the Premier League sides squads and look set to be first team starters for there clubs in the future. There are so amny it would be impossible for me to write about all of them Adam Campbell, Serge Gnabry, Tom Cleverley, Denis Suarez and many more. I would love to see your opinions and the players you think have a fantastic future ahead of them in the Premier League, leave a comment below you dont have to sign up and feedback is always appreciated and will help me to improve my writing, Thanks.
